The Congress of South African Students [COSAS] Mamelodi Zone calls upon all community members, parents, guardians and eligible voters in Mamelodi to comr out in numbers and support us in this critical
movement.
As learners, we are tired of being used. Government and political parties only remember our schools during elections, yet our schools continue to suffer from overcrowded classrooms, pit toilets, lack of textbooks, poor infrastructure and no security.
We declare: THERE WILL BE NO VOTING AND NO VOTER REGISTRATION IN ANY SCHOOL IN MAMELODI WITHOUT SERVICE DELIVERY FIRST.
Our demand is simple and non-negotiable:
Service delivery must happen TODAY, not tomorrow. Learners deserve proper classrooms, working toilets, desks,learning materials and safety.
Any government department that fails to deliver the minimum standards of service delivery within 30 DAYS of this notice must face legal and political consequences.
Schools that do not meet these standards must NOT be used as voting stations.
We therefore call on all community member and voters to stand with us and defend the right to quality education.
Do not allow your vote to be used to legitimize a government that neglects our schools.
We further demand that government must IMPLEMENT A BINDING LAW ON EDUCATION that guarantees every learner in Mamelodi and
across South Africa the right to proper infrastructure, resource, safety and quality teaching.
No school should be used for politics while
learners suffer.
Education is a right, not a privilege and it must be protected by law.
