CITY OF TSHWANE WARNS RESIDENTS AGAINST VICTIM TO JOB SCAMS

Cllr Kholofelo Morodi

The City of Tshwane is dedicated to safeguarding the well-being of Tshwane residents.

It has come to our attention that employment scams have been reported in our community and we wish to bring this important matter under your attention.

People posing as municipal representatives have been misleading residents with false promises of employment opportunities.

These scammers may demand money or request meetings in public places, such as parks, to discuss job applications.

We want to emphasise that these practices are fraudulent and do not represent the City of Tshwane.

Please take note of the following key points to protect yourself:

1. No fees for applications: The City of Tshwane will never require residents to pay any fees for job applications or recruitment processes. Any request for payment is a clear indication of a scam.

2. Official communication channels: All job opportunities within the municipality will be advertised through official channels, including our website and verified social media platforms. Residents are encouraged to use these resources to verify any job postings.

3. Report suspicious activity: If you encounter anyone claiming to be a municipal official and asking for money or unusual meeting arrangements, please report this to local authorities immediately. Your vigilance can help protect others in our community.

We urge all residents to remain cautious and informed. Together, we can combat these scams and protect our community from deceitful practices.

I encourage residents to be vigilant and report these fraudulent activities to the City of Tshwane Anti-fraud and Corruption Hotline on 080 874 9263. We appreciate your cooperation and vigilance in ensuring the safety and security of our community.
