The City of Tshwane is pleased to announce that it will proceed with a planned timed online auction of approximately 800 municipal fleet vehicles and yellow machinery.
The auction will open on 12 March 2026 and close on 13 March 2026.
Ahead of the auction, interested bidders will have the opportunity to view the vehicles from 9 to 11 March 2026.
Following the conclusion of the official auction, vehicles will be dispatched
between 16 and 27 March 2026.
This online auction forms part of a broader effort to strengthen asset management, improve service delivery efficiency, and generate additional revenue for the City.
It is important for bidders to note that the final value of the vehicles will be determined by Riley Auctions Africa,
based on their condition and market demand.
These figures will be confirmed by Group
Finance once all valuations are concluded.
Further details regarding the timed online auction are available at https://www.riley.africa/
Viewing sites for the various scrapped vehicles include:
• Bosman
• Centurion
• Mamelodi
• Bronkhorstspruit
• Soshanguve
• Pretoria West
The vehicles identified for disposal are largely aged, high-mileage units that have exceeded their optimal economic life cycle.
Many are either no longer operational or require frequent, costly repairs, making them unsuitable for reliable service delivery.
The City remains committed to responsible financial management, the efficient use of municipal assets, and ensuring that fleet decisions support consistent service delivery for all residents.
