As he wrapped up his testimony on Thursday, attempted murder-accused Vusimuzi Cat Matlala told the Parliamentary ad-hoc committee that he loves money.
Matlala made this confession when he appeared for the second time before the ad hoc committee that is sitting at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre.

Matlala admitted that he and suspended Ekurhuleni Metro Police Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi are friends.
Matlala revealed that he volunteered to pay R5 million of the R10 million ransom that was demanded by kidnappers of his friend and businessman, Mamelodi-based Jerry Boshoga, but this didn’t happen as Boshoga’s father-in-law refused to meet him half way by paying the remaining R5 million to the kidnappers.

He then pleaded with kidnappers of Boshoga to release him as he is a diabetic and obviously in a bad state of health, or in case they have killed him, then they must give signs to the family as to where they can get his corpse so that they can get closure.
He insisted that those saying he (Matlala) has kidnapped Boshoga are misleading the Boshoga family and portraying him as a bogeyman.
He denied that he is the much-feared “John Wick of Mamelodi” who shot and killed many people in that township.
Matlala has never worked a day in his life and ventured into informal business and became a street kid for a long time.
He denied allegations that he has an Eswatini identity document.
He said he resigned from his company Medicare as he was surrounded by allegations of criminal activities that were giving the company a bad reputation.
According to Matlala, former Minister of Police Bheki Cele is the one who took a large share of money from him over the years in terms of gratification and explained that he was paying these monies to Cele so that his problems with the police would go away.
He revealed that from the R360 million tender he won from the SAPS, Cele received R1 million.
He denied paying even a cent to suspended top policeman Shadrack Sibiya.
Matlala insisted that his telephonic and WhatsApp messages with people like Brown Mogotsi were actually manipulated by the police to incriminate him.
Matlala has finished giving testimony to the ad hoc committee on Thursday evening.
