CAPTAIN ARRESTED FOR DEFRAUDING SAPS PSS DIVISION OF MILLIONS

The South African Police Service(SAPS) anti-corruption unit has arrested a 53 year-old Captain for fraud.

His arrest emanates from an internal investigation sanctioned by the Division: Financial Management Services, following suspicious transactions on the Polfin system.

The Captain will appear on Tuesday, 07 April 2026, before the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on a charge of fraud.

The National Commissioner of SAPS, General Fannie Masemola has welcomed the arrest.

“any member found to be engaging in corrupt activities will face the full might of the law.

There will be no exceptions, and no compromise.

Accountability is not optional; it is a fundamental pillar of our service”,concluded General Masemola.
