The Freedom Front Plus (VF Plus) notes the ANC in the Tshwane Metro’s plan to convene a special council meeting to remove City Manager Johann Mettler from office.

In September last year, the Freedom Front Plus warned that sound administration would be undermined following ActionSA’s disruption of the coalition between the DA, Freedom Front Plus and ActionSA.

This is an ill-disguised attempt at making way for ANC and EFF cadres.

It is a calculated strategy to remove honest administrators and replace them with individuals who can be controlled.

This politically motivated campaign has escalated into an attempt to reinstate five senior officials linked to tender fraud.

This is despite charges by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) and a forensic report highlighting serious violations.

In January 2025, the Freedom Front Plus said the attempted reinstatement is jeopardising legal processes and evidence integrity in addition to sending a message of impunity.

Mettler and his managerial team are the only ones standing in the way of efforts to destabilise the Metro’s administrative order and integrity.

The Freedom Front Plus is imploring all stakeholders legal representatives, civil organisations, religious bodies, business chambers and ordinary citizens to relentlessly oppose, through all conceivable legal means, this attempt at capturing the Metro.

The Freedom Front Plus will always stand for what is right, while striving to establish a coalition that prioritises Tshwane residents.
