The ANC Greater Tshwane Regional Executive Committee notes with dismay the desperate electioneering stunts resorted to by the increasingly unpopular Democratic Alliance.
The DA has, out of desperation, embarked on a sinister media campaign to try and mislead residents of Tshwane and Gauteng that there’s a crisis that require the supremacist DA to resolve it.
The DA has been spreading lies including that the city’s finances and that there’s service delivery challenge in particular water shortages that it deliberately exaggerates.
The latest false claim by the DA is that there’s a water crisis in areas falling under the City of Tshwane.
To the contrary, the ANC-led government of the City of Tshwane is attending to water shortages and other service delivery challenges created largely by the DA and its allies during their 8 year reign in the city, a period marked by racialisation of service delivery, neglect of public infrastructure as well as serious mismanagement of the city’s finances that culminated in run-away debts, terrible audit reports and a
complete collapse of service delivery, particularly in the townships where the majority lives.
The DA has among others claimed to be opposed to the use of tankers to supply water to communities as a temporary measure as and when there are disruptions but the reality is that water tankers were introduced by the DA and its partners and that the progressive ANC-led coalition government is working to reduce and eventually eliminate altogether, reliance on them.
This includes prioritising the maintenance of water infrastructure which had been neglected by the same DA over a near decade disastrous reign.
Typical of the unethical racist DA, the party has embarked on an underhand tactic to try and conflate issues affecting the City of Tshwane with those of the City of Joburg while creatively drawing in the Gauteng provincial government in a desperate bid to paint a picture of failure where Africans govern.
The latest performance in which we saw the DA unveil a billboard in Pretoria in wicked attempt to prop up its otherwise failing election campaign is even more laughable.
Instead of embarking on a campaign of misinformation the DA should be trying to teach its leaders the basics of good governance including that a boyfriend of a minister is not entitled to ministerial perks.
That is the real issue that the blue ultra right party should be preoccupying itself with, answering for the R350 000
that Dean McPherson cost the department of public works when he turned what was meant to be a working trip to Brazil into a baecation by bringing his boyfriend at taxpayers’ cost.
The DA’s hypocrisy is consistently exposed and Mcpherson’s case is a classic example of the party shouting
left while turning right.
The REC once again assures communities in the city that the ANC-led coalition government has made tremendous progress in fixing the mess created by the racist and corrupt DA and its partners.
The REC further reiterates its longstanding rejection of the DA racist agenda, that of restoring apartheid in
our beautiful capital city.
The REC expects the DA stunts to get even more desperate as the local government elections draw closer and call on communities to reject the attempt to return us to the dark days of apartheid.
