Greater Tshwane Region ANC Chairperson, the current party Secretary George Matjila and deputy chairperson Tlangi Mogale

ANC Tshwane Regional Secretary
The ANC Greater Tshwane Regional Executive Committee welcomes, the decision that was taken by Council this morning, the 28th of May 2026 on reinstating the 43 dismissed workers which were fired by the racist DA/FF+ administration.
The ANC has always maintained that the DA led coalition was an instrument of dismantling a capable local state, they inherited, through deliberately frustrating workers of the city, and the creation of a racist political arsenal aimed at weakening the municipality.
The African National Congress in the region is pleased with the progress made, over the last 18 months of its leadership jointly with other coalition partners on the return of the dignity of an African child, by a
responsible, people-centred administration which it leads. We are elated at this, but more importantly has been the observation of the implementation of a long-standing policy of the ANC on the insourcing of
security guards, cleaners and other skills in ensuring that their livelihoods are dignified.
The council decision today, reaffirmed our commitment to insourcing local security guards into formal employment within the public sector, and it is a conscious decision that we are going to continue to
advance the inclusion of lower paid workers through the elimination of the middlemen by making sure that we insource security personnel as well as the cleaners.
The first step today is a victory to the poor and the disenfranchised masses of our people that the residents of Tshwane should be elated at these achievements on the basis that, we are comfortably moving as the African National Congress and our coalition partners in bringing dignity into the lives of ordinary black families.
The intake or insourcing of the 100 security guards, and other recruitments to follow, will be indicative of the ANC Greater Tshwane leadership, working towards increasing more and ensuring the advancement of a capable local state, through a structured and transparent employment process, as opposed to the abuse of power by senior Metropolitan police, who placed their kids and relatives totalling 200 into a training process in the TMPD, where investigations are ongoing.
The 100 Security Guards that will be brought into the city of Tshwane, will be supported with all required equipment, with every necessary tool of trade.
They will be employed on a full-time basis, and we know that as we pass the budget today and we move towards this decision the DAFF Plus and all these minority political parties that are racist, they oppose the
budget which is people-centred and people-driven.
They also oppose the insourcing of those 100 security guards.
They equally challenged the reinstatement of the 43 claiming that they are criminals when there was no evidence that they could provide to show that indeed these people were guilty.
So as the ANC we welcome this decision and we are confident, that the government will continue to roll out massive infrastructure investments into our townships and making sure that we employ our people and give them dignity.
