The African Media and Communicators Forum together with the National Press Club welcome the arrest of yet another suspect in the case involving the murder of journalist Sibusiso Aserie Ndlovu and Zodwa Mdhluli.
Thabang Isaac Mashilo was arrest earlier this week and appeared at the KwaMhlanga Magistrate Court on Tuesday.
He is facing the same charges as the other four suspects who are in custody.
He will appeared in court on 20 June 2025 together with the rest of the suspects.
The AMCF and NPC once again extend their greatest gratitude to the South African Police Service for the work done thus far.
“The investigation continues and we are grateful for the continued commitment of the investigation team.
We receive regular updates and the families appreciate the work done by the police”, said Elijah Mhlanga, AMCF Chairperson.
Last week the police released the DNA tests and this week post mortem tests were also concluded.
The families will receive the remains of their loved ones to prepare for memorial and funeral services which are scheduled for next week.
“The progress made is commendable and the families can now continue with plans.
It has been hard but the work of the police is comforting to the families”, said Antoinette Slabbert,
