ActionSA’s recent social media attack campaign on the Multi-Party Government in Tshwane is a clear indication that their internal review process is nothing more than a smokescreen to buy time while they finalise a deal to bring the EFF into government in the capital city.

This campaign, which highlights service delivery issues in Tshwane and attempts to place the blame solely on the DA, is deeply hypocritical.

“ActionSA likes to brand itself as the party of action, yet despite being in government, it resorts to posting videos about how helpless they are instead of using their elected leadership to take action.

ActionSA holds the Deputy Mayor position, the second-highest political office in the city, yet it conveniently distances itself from any shortcomings,” said DA Tshwane Caucus Spokesperson Kwena Moloto.

If ActionSA truly believes that the government they have co-governed since 2021 is failing, why hasn’t their Deputy Mayor or MMC resigned?

Moloto pointed out that it is unethical to remain in a Mayoral Committee for a salary while publicly denouncing the very government they are part of.

Tshwane is not without its challenges, but we are making progress. ActionSA’s attempts to destabilise a stable coalition in pursuit of power by aligning with the EFF threatens to undo this progress.

“We have witnessed the devastating impact of the EFF’s governance in Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni—corruption, destruction, and chaos have become the norm,” he said.

He further said in Tshwane, the EFF has already shown its true colours.

Videos have surfaced of EFF Councilors assaulting others in the council chambers.

More alarmingly, the Leader of the EFF in Tshwane, Obakeng Ramabodu, was recently quoted as saying, “I want the blood of a Boer.

I would like to moer an Afrikaner.” This is the party that ActionSA is willing to bring into government, all in a desperate bid for power.

“ActionSA’s actions are a betrayal of the Multi-Party Government and, more importantly, a betrayal of the residents of Tshwane.

They are willing to risk the stability and progress of our city for their own ambitions,”
Moloto concluded.
