THE ORLANDO PIRATES COACH IS A JITTERY CHARACTER
The Orlando Pirates coach from Morocco is a jittery character.
He is afraid of losing yet he eventually ends up losing anyway in crucial games played by Pirates against Mamelodi Sundowns and African teams.
How many times has this Moroccan Pirates coach beaten Sundowns?
As soccer enthusiasts you can easily check that out for yourselves.
My wild, unresearched opinion is that he has never beaten Sundowns.
It is either he got beaten or played to a draw against the lacklusture Sundowns which does not even have a playmaker.
He admires Sundowns’ Portuguese coach Cardosso and does not want to beat him for fear of offending him (Cardosso).
It was a fluke that Pirates won the PSL trophy last season; and this Morocco Pirates coach knows it.
His players couldn’t even score in the last two games or so, yet they were chasing the League..
All this because the jittery Moroccan Pirates coach is afraid of going all out to attack.
He believes in defence and hopes that in one way or another God or Allah will help his team score goals.
He admires the defensive Portuguese football playing style as that is the style of play admired in his own country Morocco which has never won anything continentally in Africa: defend, defend and defend once again until God or Allah helps us to score in one way or another.
At Sundowns young man Mabena has been denied a chance to play just because he is an excellent dribbler.
At Pirates Mpho Padime is also being denied a chance to play, just because he is a dribbler as well.
Both Cardosso and the Morocco Pirates coach hate dribblers.
Finish en klaar!
Pirates and Sundowns play the same style of football which is inspired by Portugal instead of trying to play like Spain.
Pirates and Sundowns play diagonal crosses, and this means instead of making a decent square pass directly to one’s teammate, a player is instructed by the coach to put the ball between the opposing goalkeeper and his own striker so that the two can fight for the ball.
In most cases this results in a clash of heads and feet between the goalkeeper and the on-running striker as the ball is not played to anyone in particular.
Honestly, I will never understand this stupid kind of play.
Why can’t all these teams on the world try to play good football like the 2026 World Cup winners Spain?
Why do these coaches still insist on using their useless, Portugal-inspired tactics?
Ayikhona! We are being fed rubbish football by both Sundowns and Pirates.
