The Mamelodi Community Police Forum has warned residents to stop making false assumptions regarding the murder of twin boys in Section D6, Mamelodi West.
The boys were murdered two weeks ago.
Their bodies were found stabbed inside the house of their parents.
They were 14 years old.
Since their murder assumptions, accusations and rumours have been bandied about regarding the identity of the alleged killer or killers.
Police have also not come out clear regarding the culprit in this matter.
It is widely believed in the community of D6 that a man who lives near the home of the dead boys is responsible for their deaths.
Be that as it may, some residents believe that a close relative of the boys is responsible for their deaths.
Now some people believe that an as yet unidentified person has been arrested by the police but will soon be released as there is no concrete evidence linking him to the murder of the twin boys.
In a missive titled “STOP UNFOUNDED REPORTS ON THE MURDERED TWINS CASE (D6)” which has been sent to Tshwane Talks by the Mamelodi CPF, the organisation’s Public Relations Officer Eddie Mnguni said the following:
“The Mamelodi CPF is saddened by stakeholders and community members who continue to put unsubstantiated reports about the case of the two boys who were murdered by faceless killers or killer in Mamelodi ( D6).”
Mnguni further said the following:
“We call on everybody to refrain from making their own assumptions or accusing each other in relation to this case; please give the SAPS Provincial team a chance to conclude their investigations that would lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of those involved.”
