WHO SAYS MADLANGA COMMISSION MUST ULTIMATELY COME TO AN END?

Just who is it who says the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry must ultimately come to an end?

I say it must not.

After tackling corruption, malfeasance and pure criminality in the echelons of the criminal justice system of this country, it must be allowed to tackle the Department of Home Affairs, the National Youth Development Agency, NSFAS, gangsterism in the Cape Province, nyaope in Mamelodi township, political killings in KZN and even the South African Football Association ( SAFA)

All supply chain management entities of all government institutions and municipalities must also be subjected to thorough investigation by the Madlanga Commission.

There is a lot of shenanigans going on at these aforementioned institutions and it is depressing to actually note that these institutions are not the only ones beleaguered by corrupt activities of men and women who think the wealth of the government and by extension that of the people of South Africa belongs to them.

Their wrongful sense of entitlement knows no bounds.

In my opinion the Madlanga Commission’s investigation into corruption in the criminal justice system is just the beginning of a broader scheme which must ultimately probe each and every government institution in this country including dubious private industries.

And please spare me the nonsense that there is no budget for the Madlanga Commission to undertake the task of investigating more government institutions and private industries.

If there is no such budget at the moment then one must be provided going forward.

The Madlanga Commission must be a permanent feature in our legal system and even if the likes of Judge Madlanga ultimately go into permanent retirement or pass away, the institution must live on to continue to expose corruption in this country.

And going forward, the Constitution of this country must be changed so that it does not only give the Madlanga Commission inquisitorial powers, but also gives it the right to find any person appearing before it guilty (if they are indeed guilty) and sentence them to a jail term.

An inquisitorial system obviously depends on police intelligence-driven excellence and I must commend KZN Commissioner General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi and Gauteng Police Chief of Intelligence General Khumalo for the good work that they have done so far in exposing all the charlatans that have turned our beloved country into a gangsters’ paradise.

Now let the show go on!!
