JACQUI UYS IS MERELY GRANDSTANDING

By Tshepo Mahlangu

Community outreach did not start during Jacqui Uys’ tenure.

There is nothing new in her statement and she is only blowing hot air to unsuspecting residents who don’t have facts on what is really happening in that building (Tshwane House).

We demand a response on genuine concerns raised through a memorandum of demands which was handed to the City of Tshwane recently and MMC Jacqui Uys and her toxic coalition government must refrain from running the City through social media because not all of us are coconuts.

Tshwane Ya Tima is illegal as it is based on wrong debtors’ book (estimated arrears) I hope their so-called Coalition partners will come to their senses and scrap all estimated arrears because what they are doing now is that they are gloating about mismanagement, corruption and arrogance.

They stole our POPs (Poorest of the Poor programme) and failed to assess residents therein since 2021.

They are on a mission to collect revenue through backdoor tactics rather than owning up to corruption and mismanagement.

I don’t buy this story by MMC Jacqui Uys because she refused to attend meetings but uses the so-called Outreach programme to trick residents into making arrangements to avoid electricity cut-offs.

It is our contention that bills must be scrapped at Council level and not at Outreach programmes taking place at street corners.

People are tricked into making arrangements to avoid electricity cut-offs, but those arrangements are then turned over for the benefit of DA party members in affluent suburbs.

Though 2 500 identities of POP beneficiaries were stolen to benefit the rich, the Council Speaker is doing nothing about this matter but instead takes their side in the Mayoral Committee report which contains fraudulent statements.

The figure she quotes represents those who have been tricked into making arrangements and they are going to be disconnected after 30 days.

Ask MMC Jacqui Uys to come to Atteridgeville for a public meeting because she has failed to respond to various memorandums that have been delivered to her at Tshwane House.

Her utterances about writing off debts are misleading and she is merely grandstanding.
