EFF sub- region 5 leadership in Tshwane hosted a surprise Christmas party for the elderly people.
The party was held at the Lodewyk Spies home in Eersterus, Tshwane over the weekend.
Elderly people were spoiled with lunch and gifts and Dj played their favorite songs.
Elderly people throw away walking sticks, crashed and those in wheelchair stand up and dance for the beautiful music that reminds them back in their days when they used to get down.
There was an opportunity of introducing new board members of the home which include Bongani Ramontja known as King and also adopted the home.
Speaking to Bongani King Ramontja told the Tshwane Talks that when we heard about the home of the elderly, we did not want to waste time we immediately wanted to intervene and help where we can.
We decided to host a Christmas lunch party for them and give them gift. Every single day is a special day for them.
“Today is a special day for the elderly people and every single day for their lives is a special day.
We are making it extra special for them to show them love, support and care,” Ramontja said.
He said our elderly are one people when they open their mouth and pray for us it will be a breakthrough because they got a pure heart.
It so good to sever our elderly with love and dignity. We want to be like our elders.
We want to reach the age that they have reached because the age they have reach it is a blessing.
“This home is going to be a home of love; a home of respect and we are adopting it because we want to see our elderly live the best lives.
Our elderly are more important than anything that is exists in this earth and we must show them respect and love all the time,” he said.
Ramontja said there will be lots of changes in the home and change is coming and as EFF Tshwane Sub-region 5 leadership we are adopting this home.
What mostly important we want to see our elderly live their best lives.
They fought for many years; they fought for liberation, and fought for unity, fought for equality and now it time for us to fight to make sure they live a better live.
“We are going to restore the dignity of this home and we going to bring it to them because they deserve it and they are our parents and when they see us, they see their kids every time they lay their eyes on us.
They must pray for us and pray that God give us strengths and knowledge of how we can transform and grow this place,” Ramontja said.
He concluded that he is very happy to be part of the board members and things will change and our elderly will watch Netflix, DStv and we want to make sure our elderly have a comfortable home and they must enjoy and have activities.
Facility Manager Silas Kekana said we thanks the EFF Tshwane for bringing the restaurant to us and today is a very special day for our elderly people.
We really appreciate everything they have done for us.
“Our home is very important, and we need to improve but we are getting there.
Our elderly are our parents, our grandparents and they are family, and they need our love and support,” Kekana said.
