The Security Personnel Party of South Africa will lay a complaint with IEC.
This comes after SPPSA discovered that the ANC in Tshwane is planning to use City of Tshwane’s resources to campaign in ward 93.
A dying ANC is playing dirty as public frustration continues to grow, serious questions are being raised about the conduct ANC in Tshwane and the alleged use of municipal resources for political campaigning ahead of this year’s municipal elections.
The use of public resources for party-political purposes, if established, would be deeply concerning and entirely unacceptable.
Municipal resources belong to the residents of Tshwane and must serve the public interest not the electoral ambitions of any political party.
The Security Personnel Party of South Africa (SPPSA) will closely scrutinise these allegations and pursue every appropriate avenue to ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
Tshwane Executive Mayor Nasiphi Moya should take note of these concerns and ensure that municipal resources, personnel, branding and official City of Tshwane platforms are not misused for party-political purposes.
Political coalitions should never come at the expense of accountability, transparency and the interests of residents.
The SPPSA will not stand by while public resources are allegedly diverted from the residents who fund and depend on them.
We will continue to demand transparency, accountability and consequences where wrongdoing is established.
The message from residents is increasingly clear: political parties must earn the public’s trust through service, accountability and respect for the law.
No party should believe that public resources can be used as a political tool without scrutiny.
The people of Tshwane deserve better and SPPSA will continue to stand firmly for accountability, responsible governance and the protection of public resources.
The ANC has issued a poster to visit ward 93 to do door to door campaigning using ANC flag.
The other poster is a City of Tshwane poster with a logo of the city where it is posted in the City of Tshwane media pages.
The very same residents of ward 93 in Marry Me and Leeuwfontein informal settlements have been calling MMC of Human Settlements Aaron Maluleka to address the issues they are facing and he never reached out to them.
Today, on the eve of the end of his term as MMC of Human Settlement and on the eve of elections, the very same MMC is visiting ward 93 using state resources.
What promises is he going to make that he will not fulfill because his term is coming to an end on the 4th November 2026?
The current administration has failed on numerous occasions to bring services to the community of ward 93, and now they are busy on the ground campaigning using City of Tshwane resources.
City of Tshwane’s hard earned taxpayers’ money is being used to fund ANC Tshwane campaign.
In some parts of Tshwane, residents are waiting for the service delivery and resourced are diverted to fund ANC Tshwane campaign programs.
MMC Maluleka, how can you take a City program and campaign with it?
The ANC in Tshwane will not hijack municipal programs and make it their campaign trail.
This action by ANC is exposing the ANC’s growing panic ahead of the upcoming local government elections.
The ANC is unable to campaign on a record of service delivery but is campaigning on using state resources.
Prior to elections, parties will sign the electoral code of conduct, which is provided for in Schedule 2 of the Electoral Act 73 of 1998 and which requires that they adhere to certain standards of behaviour, specifically during the campaigning period.
The electoral code is intended to produce a political context that is conducive to free and fair elections, fostering acceptance of democratic political activity, encouraging free political campaigning and stimulating open debate on pertinent social, economic and political issues.
This has to stop, and the MMC must not use city resources.
We are calling for the City of Tshwane Mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya to take action against the MMC concerned if she is serious about fighting corruption in CoT.
