Zodwa Booi interim President of Operation Dudula
By Operation Dudula Interim Leadership
Operation Dudula has noted reports published by various media houses regarding the resignation of Ms Zandile Dabula as both President and a member of Operation Dudula on 14 May 2026.
We confirm that her resignation was formally received and accepted by the leadership and members of Operation Dudula.
We thank her for her contribution to the organisation and wish her well in her future endeavours.
As with any organisation, the departure of a senior leader may create organisational and constitutional challenges that require decisive leadership and consultation.
In response to these developments,Operation
Dudula convened a General Meeting on 6 June 2026 at Naledi Hall, Soweto, to deliberate on the future of the organisation.
During this meeting, members extensively discussed the implications of the former President’s resignation, the functionality of organisational structures, and the overall direction of Operation Dudula.
Following these deliberations, members unanimously resolved to adopt a renewed organisational mandate.
This includes the revival and strengthening of organisational structures, the resumption of programmes aligned with the new mandate, and preparations for the upcoming Local Government Elections.
The Founder of Operation Dudula and the Interim Executive Executor have, however, noted with serious concern the purported conference held in Durban on 16 June 2026 by individuals claiming to represent Operation Dudula.
We wish to state unequivocally that this gathering was neither authorised nor sanctioned by the recognised leadership of Operation Dudula in terms of the organisation’s Constitution.
Prior to the event, official communication was circulated to all recognised members advising them not to participate in the planning or attendance of the purported conference.
Members were further informed that any resolutions or decisions arising from such a gathering would be regarded as null and void and would have no legal or constitutional standing within the organisation.
Despite these clear directives, the gathering proceeded, and several individuals who identify themselves as members of Operation Dudula chose to participate.
The organisation views this conduct in a serious light.
Accordingly, disciplinary proceedings will be instituted against those involved in accordance with the Constitution of Operation Dudula.
The organisation is also pursuing legal remedies, including restraining orders where necessary, to prevent the unauthorised use of the Operation Dudula name, logo, regalia, and any other intellectual property belonging to the organisation.
Furthermore, Operation Dudula has been informed that a criminal case relating to allegations of public violence has been opened at Sydenham Police Station.
While we are still gathering the full facts surrounding the incident, we wish to place on record that Operation Dudula does not condone unlawful conduct.
Should any member be found to have acted outside the law or contrary to the Constitution of the organisation, appropriate internal and legal processes will follow.
We will continue to cooperate with the relevant law enforcement authorities where required.
Operation Dudula also wishes to place on record that the organisation is currently not working in partnership with, affiliated to, or campaigning on behalf of any political party.
Any claims or representations suggesting
otherwise are false and should be disregarded. Operation Dudula remains an independent organisation and will communicate any future political decisions through its official leadership and communication channels.
Operation Dudula is pleased to announce Commander Zodwa Booi as the Interim public face and leader of the organisation during this transitional period.
Commander Zodwa is a seasoned and committed leader who has served the organisation with distinction in various capacities, including as aLeader in the Western Cape, National Secretary-General, and most recently as Interim Executive Executor.
Her appointment has received overwhelming support from members and leadership alike, reflecting the organisation’s confidence in her ability to guide Operation Dudula during this important period of renewal.
The remaining members of the Interim Leadership Structure will be announced in due course as part of the organisation’s ongoing restructuring process.
Operation Dudula remains firmly committed to constitutional governance, organisational discipline, accountability, and the advancement of the interests of the people of South Africa.
We call upon all members, supporters, stakeholders, and the public to disregard misinformation and to rely solely on official communication issued by the duly authorised leadership of Operation Dudula.

Viva Operation Dudula! Forward Ever, Backward Never!
