MamsNet Fault Report Community Service Delivery Group

We strongly condemn the recent insults directed at our Ward Councillor during Power Outage incident.

Disagreement and accountability are part of public service, but personal attacks and abusive language cross a line.

That behavior undermines constructive dialogue and disrespects the office and the people it serves.

Councillor Marishane has consistently demonstrated commitment to delivering services to this ward and Mamelodi at large, often under difficult circumstances.

No public servant should be subjected to insults for simply doing their job.

We therefore call on the South African Police Service (SAPS) to investigate this matter and determine whether the conduct constitutes harassment, crimen iniuria, or any other offense under South African law. Those responsible must be held accountable.

We call on all community members to express grievances respectfully and through the proper channels.

If the goal is progress for the ward and Mamelodi in general, it will not be achieved through hostility.

Thanks and Love.
