ATTERIDGRVILLE YOUTHS GUNNED DOWN IN SOSHANGUVE

Three youths said to be from Atteridgrville were gunned down by unknown assailants just after leaving the local watering hole known as 50 Tavern in Block KK Soshanguve in the wee hours of Monday morning.

They had just attended the social club (stokvel) knowns as MaGents which was hosted at the tavern.

The shooting incident occured about 500 metres from the tavern.

According to eye witnesses, the victims were shot from behind by their assailants as they attempted to flee the scene.

The bodies of two victims were later discovered at different scenes in the street while that of a third victim was discovered in the yard of one of the houses neighbouring the tavern.

Details and motives surrounding their killing remain unclear at this stage and authorities have yet to confirm the identities of the deceased victims as well as those of their assailants.

The Block KK community in Soshanguve is still reeling in shock as a result of the incident with residents calling for increased safety measures and stronger police presence in the area.

“Police are investigating two counts of murder following an incident wherein two victims were fatally shot in Soshanguve Block KK on 04 May 2026 at approximately 06:00 and the motive to the shooting is currently unknown and investigations are ongoing,” read a statement submitted to Tshwane Talks by SAPS Spokesperson Captain Tintswalo Sibeko.
