The Road Traffic Management Corporation (RTMC) is investigating a shooting incident in Klerksdorp involving four (4) National Traffic Police members.
The RTMC views the incident in a serious light and has accordingly placed the officers on precautionary suspension until preliminary investigations give guidance on whether formal disciplinary proceedings should be implemented.
The RTMC expects all law enforcement officers to always conduct themselves in line with their oath of office.
The incident happened on Wednesday 17
December 2025 and the members have been remanded in custody pending a bail hearing.
The RTMC is awaiting the outcome of this process.
