A Zimbabwean politician, Job Sikhala (53) and his uncle Alexander Ferrowst Thema (78) appeared briefly at the Pretoria Magistrates Court. They are facing charges of possession of explosives.

It is alleged that on 06 November 2025 the two accused were stopped by police while driving along Kgosi Mampuru Street. When the police searched for the car, they found 26 units of blasting cartridge and 15 units of connector cap fusers.

In court the matter was postponed to 13 November 2025 for a formal bail application.

The two are remanded in custody.
