The Economic Freedom Fighters in Gauteng is outraged by the deep-rooted corruption and criminality that has consumed the Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD).

What should be a law enforcement agency serving the people has instead been
captured by dangerous syndicates who operate as a mafia in uniform.

Recent events have laid bare this ugly truth.

Two members of the TRT unit and a
former TMPD officer were arrested after hijacking a delivery truck carrying goods valued at R900 000.

They carried out this brazen crime using a state vehicle fitted with blue lights, the very tools of law enforcement turned into instruments of organised crime.

Even more chilling is the case of Victor (Valdez) Baloyi, a TMPD officer and alleged member of the criminal gang Bafarasai, who is wanted in connection with extortion, drug trafficking, and political assassinations, including the brutal killing of Councillor Thabang Masemola of Ward 10, as well as other community leaders such as Tshepiso
Nkoano and Surprise Masinga.

The fact that a serving TMPD officer is implicated in such heinous acts proves beyond doubt that the department has been infiltrated and corrupted at the highest levels.

The EFF in Gauteng demands immediate action from the Provincial Commissioner,
General Tommy Mthombeni.

We insist that a full-scale investigation be launched into
the criminal syndicates operating within TMPD and their collusion with organised
gangs.

We demand a forensic audit of TMPD vehicles, weapons, and resources, to
expose how state assets are being turned against the very people they are meant to protect.

Those implicated in hijackings, assassinations, extortion, and drug dealing must be removed from service without delay and face the full might of the law.

Nothing short of decisive, uncompromising action will restore faith in a department that has become the very face of corruption in Gauteng.

We further demand justice for the families of Councillor Masemola, Tshepiso Nkoano, Surprise Masinga, and all victims of this criminal network.

Their blood cries out for accountability. Communities must never again be left to live in fear of those wearing a uniform.

The EFF Gauteng will not stand idle while a police department is turned into a breeding ground for criminal syndicates.

Enough is enough.

The uniform cannot be a license to
hijack, extort, and kill.

We call on the Provincial Commissioner to act decisively, without fear or favour, to cleanse TMPD from its rotten core.
